Can you explain the difference between a detox center and an addiction treatment center? Are they interchangeable terms?

She had a great job computer and brilliant designer. One day on her way to gym, she was hit by of all things and ambulance, ran red light.

I told her how wonderful she had gotten through all that and was off drugs. She looked me in the eyes and said" I am an addict, I will always be an addict. I deny myself and I want it. But, I go back to I am an addict…..jww

She was under Defacs and therapy, but she kept doing drugs and DFACs caught her. It was all over for her ever to get her child back. These are just some of her horrible story. It was detox or lose her son. So she checked in and started. I guess she was given something, to help her come off. I don't know. Because she was a known addict, there was a person watching her and her son. She said that she lived through it detoxed. But, she knew now how bad an addict she was and definitely knew what a conniving person she was.

It's not pleasant, but it's necessary. To try and do it on your own , is almost a sure death sentence.

A Detox Center is the place an addict goes to, have medical, life saving treatment. In case it's needed. Detox means you want to get off the drugs, and get clean.

This young woman had been on drugs most of her life. She experienced a terrible crime when a toddler From that her mother was an addict , her biological father was alcoholic and drugs. She was extremely popular, in all school activities. But, anxiety and depression, terrible marriage to an addict. She went through bulimia, anorexia, spiraling down. Family distfunctiol understatement. She was suicidal taking Tylenol over dose and trying to end all with any kind of drugs. She had a son but lost custody of him. Hello, I have a question about astral projection. I started to get interested in this a little while after my mum passed in april. I thought I may be able to see her and speak with her if I managed to achieve astral projection. Since this interest, every time i sleep on my back I go into sleep paralysis. However, I cant progress into astral projection because it is very scary for me as I feel like I'm suffocating when this happens. I panic and force myself to wake up. This only ever happened about once a year before this. It sometimes lasts a long time. This has happened about 3 times per week since my mum died, as mentioned on a previous post. I no longer try to go into it anymore(due to the suffocating feeling), but it still happens. I read that sleep paralysis is the pathway to astral projection. Why has this started to happen so frequently since simply taking an interest in it? Is this connected to the afterlife? I am concerned about it as I now cannot seem to stop this happening. Could it be my mum trying to communicate? Im asking due to more knowledge around this in this group.

I understand what she meant when she would never admit she was an addict. She may have said recreational drugs. But, it was pure destruction. As an addict she said she knew this was a life time name for her. She can't be around anything without wanting to take it. But 5 years she said. She says she cannot be around certain meds prescribed for her son

You won't go there and find anything easy, Except you have medical people watching you. For signs of problems you need a doctor.

God and their Church is the main part of their life. She had to move away from her parents, family, friends who were addicts. That was the best thing she could have done.

The DFACs Worker believed she wanted her child forever So she got her into a place that takes addicts and if they make it without suicide, They eventually help them get a job. So, it's a two year program . Women and their children , once they get them back on trial basis. The child came and about a year. Her son and her lived in this dorm shared with others. They had one room of their own the rest was open She worked cleaning, doing dishes whatever they were assigned.. She had therapists, counselor and therapy with her son .

A young woman talked to me about her experience in Detox. Number one you can only do this to get off the drugs. It's too hard too horrible. But, it's the end of the road. Time to make it happen, or not.
